Martin Royalton-Kisch attributes this drawing to Anthonie Waterloo rather that Allaert van Everdingen, to whom it was given in our 1987 catalogue. It is part of a small group of landscapes studies by the artist, drawn in a similar style on off-white or buff paper, and having framing lines in pen and dark brown ink.
