This is the study for the left horse in one of the plates in the series of ten etchings by Jan van Huchtenberg (1647-1733) after Adam Frans van Der Meulen entitled 'Horses Wounded in Battle' published by Adam Frans van der Meulen between 1662-90 (Hollsten 41; Bartsch V. 425; Weigel 1843).
