    Note:

    This is a preparatory drawing for an engraving made by Hendrik Winter, and designed by Frederik Bloemaert, after Abraham Bloemaert.  It is part of a series of 120 pattern prints made by Frederik in 1650 called the "Het Tekenboek" as a sort of model book for students.  It was very popular and reprinted several times.  All the prints are numbered, mainly in the lower left corner.  The print which relates to this drawing is numbered XVI.
