Note:
The present work typifies John McClusky’s efforts to engage with the changing landscape around him. Dirt-covered, smudged, and ridden with cracks and small holes, the view from McClusky’s studio window leads out onto a sequence of rooftops beneath a grey-blue sky. The window frame at left serves as a repoussoir parallel to the row of painstakingly detailed bricks at right further enhancing the view’s framing effect.
