Note:
This portrait possibly depicts the Italian writer and mystic Arrigo Levasti. Giovanni Costetti was best known as a printmaker. Most of his best known works date from 1904 to 1910. One of the most important projects he undertook during this time was a group of etchings for the Italian poet and playwright Gabriele D’Annunzio and the Esposizione Fiorentina della Società di Belle Arti in 1908.
